Jann Ford Petersen, FNP

Nurse Practitioner Jann Petersen is focused on family medicine and has clinical interests in urgent care, sexual health, holistic wellness, headaches and orthopedics.

Jann received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. She has practiced medicine as a CNA, as a paramedic, and as a registered nurse. She began practicing as a nurse practitioner in 2015. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the Arizona Nurses Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

As a paramedic, Jann helped with the formation of the first EMS off-line protocols in conjunction with Chandler Regional Hospital, and she was a flight paramedic with AirEvac in the metro Phoenix area. She has been precepting both nurses and nurse practitioner students for the past 10 years.

Jann is passionate about nature and horses, as she grew up on a small horse ranch in Northern California. She competed in equestrian three-day event and qualified for the Olympic tryouts in 1987. She now spends time training her Belgium Malinois. She loves to hike and golf, as well. She has four wonderful children and will soon have a second grandchild. She is a "true nerd" and loves to read; she believes each day offers everyone many learning moments.

Healthcare has been a passion of Jann's since high school, when she worked in a nursing home. She believes that it is important to listen to her patients and deliver healthcare that fits with what they believe in. She says, "Healthcare is not a one size fits all, and it is important to listen to our patients and learn what is important to them to tailor a great experience that helps them reach their healthcare goals."
